Assessment Map information is derived from various Jackson County departments, including Assessment, Surveyor, and Recording. This data is compiled from information dating back to the earliest days of the County. Assessment is now the caretaker of this database and constantly strives to ensure its accuracy.
Why might I want this information?Assessment Map data is extremely valuable for identifying legal descriptions recorded in Jackson County. This is the main reason the Assessment Department maintains this system. The application primarily gets users a starting point for “running out” * legal descriptions for properties.

Assessment maps provides a comprehensive search solution for users at Jackson County, enabling them to quickly find cadastral property information. Cadastral assessment maps provide the base for all assessment information at Jackson County. Main, searches all categories, once loaded the grid contains all entries (subdivision, partition plats, donation land claims, and map numbers) cached for fast searches and next page loads. This is the default search type for the application.
Note: search precision can be increased by quoting the text entered. While entering "page a" with quotes will return 1 record, unquoted it returns thousands of records.
In rare circumstances users may wish to limit the results of the search to subdivision data only. Click the “Subdivision” button to enable this search. A page navigator is available in at the bottom of the grid which can be used to browse large result sets.
Limits search to partition plats category. Entries do not need to include the “p-“. Years must be entered using four digits. Dashes are not required between the partition number and year. Spaces between number and year will produce similar results.
This is a new search type added in the summer of 2018. Donation Land Claims are one of the oldest types of cadastral survey in Jackson County and are still used in many legal descriptions and surveys recorded in Jackson County. Data will be entered related to corners commonly referenced by deeds and land transactions.
Search: Since this is included in the main search, it will rarely be needed on its own. Searches for map numbers will mostly be used to gain quick access to a known map.
