Our Decision Process

Applicants who have submitted a complete application and all supporting materials by the required deadlines will receive an admissions decision. UF releases decisions on the last Friday in February for our priority round applicants and on the last Friday in March for our space-available applicants. You can view your decision after logging in to your Gator Portal by clicking the button below.

At UF.

We employ a comprehensive review process that evaluates academic and nonacademic criteria. When we review an application, we are considering a candidate's chance of success at UF based on what the student has accomplished within distinct opportunities and challenges. The admissions review process tries to balance the subjective and objective components of the application. The university recognizes that there is great variation among applicants' personal circumstances, home communities and high schools, including schools' course offerings and grading practices. Admission officers can exercise flexibility and professional judgment in their reviews and decisions, but they also must apply consistent standards.

Our Holistic Review is Guided By:

Student Profile

UF considers all aspects of your application, background and qualifications when making admissions decisions.

The ranges below reflect the Middle 50% of students admitted to the University of Florida in 2023. It's important to understand that these are NOT minimum criteria, nor does falling within these ranges guarantee that a student will be admitted. UF considers all aspects of a student's application, background and qualifications when making admissions decisions.

GPA

4.4-4.6

SAT

1350-1490

ACT

30-34

As this is UF's first year with the CLT , we do not have data on the middle 50% to provide.

GPA Recalculation Process

The above range represents the core, weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale that UF calculates as part of the evaluation process. Dual-enrollment courses in core areas and any AP, IB or AICE classes receive an extra 1.0 credit weight, meaning that an A is worth a 5.0 on a 4.0 scale. Pre-AICE, pre-AP, pre-IB and Honors classes receive a 0.5 credit weight, meaning that an A is worth a 4.5 on a 4.0 scale.
